I Am.

Posted in For Him at 6:50 pm by amberbrackin

“I was there in the quiet. I was there in the stillness of the night.
I was there next to you, when I saw the tears fall from your eyes.
There in the shadows, I will never leave your side.

When your longing and yearning,
when your broken for me.
When your heart is weary, come and you’ll see.
I am yours to hold I am yours to keep,
I am yours for always.
I am, if you believe…”

“There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
The holy dwelling places of the Most High.
    God is in the midst of her, she will not be moved;
God will help her when morning dawns.”

                                                 -Psalm 46:4-5

I have been doing some thinking and talking to God about a big decision in my life right now. Its been one of those things where you want Gods direction but your flesh fears the answer He is going to give, so you just beat around the bush with your selective hearing towards His voice… So I decided to have a one on one with God.  I layed it all out.

What He said surprised me. He told me He would be with me no matter what choice I made, But, in that decision I would have to face what ever consequences came… Im not talking about sin here. Im talking about the fork in the road, where both paths lead to His Kingdom but which road is the right one? Thats where I was stuck. He continued to speak to me saying He expects faithfulness from me no matter which road I choose. Whether it’s the road less traveled or the run down path that many have walked through. God is giving me the freedom to choose. Not to stand in fear of choosing…. Wow there! What was that God? Your giving me a chance to choose… Don’t you want to just tell me what to do?

“God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change
And though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea; “

                                                                  -psalm 46:1-2

Now, whether there are trials of many kinds or mountains we have to climb, we press on because God says that He will be with us.  God Promises be on our side no matter what. As long as we follow Him, there is no such thing as a wrong decision.  As long as we obey His voice, He will lead us. As long as our lives are serving Christ, He expects greatness from us.  Thats the truth.  He wants us to be faithfull to ALL decisions we make in life, in order to fulfill the destiny he has for His Chosen ones.

Please don’t fear the fork in the road or the road God has you on. Change is not something we should fear people, it’s a time to look forward to the new season He has for our lives. God says that He is in the midst of our lives directing every decision we make. Trust His gentle voice and obey His direction.

Praise the Father for New Seasons and new levels!

Take the chance of a lifetime, you only get one. Lifetime that is….

foundations of what?

Posted in deeper thoughts at 3:03 pm by amberbrackin

I was looking over Sundays scripture from PM and I continued to read on in 1Corinthians 3 about Gods foundation. It says in vs. 9 that we are ‘God’s workers, His field, and His building.’  Okay, and…..

As Christians, we know that Christ is the solid foundation on which we stand, but what is the purpose of that foundation? Something has to go on top of it right..?

vs. 11 “For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”  -In the previous verses Paul says yea, we DO take part in the planting and in the watering of the seeds, But ultimatly, God is the One who causes growth….Do you know how important it is WHAT we lay on His foundation?

In our lives here on earth we only get one chance to lay our foundations before the return of our King. What will He find us doing when He returns? Will you just be roaming in the fields? …Planting seeds? …Watering the plants?

Its obvious to me that He is calling us to be workers. I also think He is calling us to build.

vs.9 “For we are Gods fellow workers; you are Gods field, God’s building”

Yes, our lives add a brick to God’s foundation, but do you know how important that one or two bricks are!?

VERY IMPORTANT because we lay our foundations on God, other generations after us can continue building their foundations on Him as well! That in itself is enough to define our purposes for which we were created (to serve God’s kingdom and lead others to Him).

Be careful how you are building on Gods foundation.

Ask yourself, ‘am I building on Christs foundation or My foundation?’

Remember, each man’s work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each mans work. vs.13

God is the consuming fire, does your building remain standing? or is it burned up…….

dancing in kids church…

Posted in Uncategorized at 3:10 pm by amberbrackin

So I help out back there with Jessica and Kyle at least once a month. You wanna talk about transition in a church, check out the kids ministry. This Sunday was a gorgeous morning. One of those mornings when you wake up and the birds are singing and you just know its a good day.

There was a great group of kids there Sunday and God has been bringing powerful messages through Jess and Kyle about the kids being a hero for Jesus. I couldn’t help but to smile and rejoice while being back there because I was seeing the seeds that are being planted in these kids everyweek. These kids are excited about Gods word and learning Gods character. You can see the love thats growing in their little hearts just by looking in their eyes. Jessica and I were helping them with this story sheet when we both turned around and noticed one of the little girls had gotten up and just started dancing and spinning around right in the middle of the room. Yes, there was worship music playing… She was totally oblivious to anything around her; we stood there and watched her as she twirled with this sweet smile on her face. I stopped to notice her and just watched for a few seconds before she came over to me, grabbed my hand and asked me to dance with her. Everything inside of me wanted nothing more than to join her. So I did. And we danced together rght there in the middle of kids church while the other kids finnished working on their coloring sheets.

I am brought to tears thinking back upon this simple moment where God demonstrated His love.

When was the last time we stopped to just spend time dancing with Jesus.? Seriously, stopped whatever it is we are doing and just rejoiced in the goodness of Gods love. Recklessly abandoned to everything around us.

Now if you wanna get even deeper, How many times have we rejected that hand that God offers to us to join with Him in this dance.? Many times on my end for whatever pathetic reason there is. Im too busy to notice God dancing around me. Too worried about my life to join in on the dance. When all God wants us to do is take His hand and trust Him. Can you imagine the freedom that awaits in the Fathers’ arms… … Now, maybe your not the dancing type, afraid you might step on His feet… God doesn’t want you to just physically move with Him. He wants your spirit to dance with Him in this song called life,  as He is constantly inviting you to do every morning as you wake up and say to yourself  ”its going to be a good day”.

Be encouraged my friends, to take this day and dance with your Father.

Eternity & Time

this needs to come out, at least in part, because for sure a blog like this can’t be written completely in one sitting. but basically God showed me the other day about decisions that run our lives. and our decisions are based on the importance of one of two things: Eternity and Time.

the decisions i make every day come down to that…if i can train my mind to find importance in the things of eternity, then my actions will be filled in love, and flow in the Spirit of grace.

if eternity is more important, then i wont do religious things to please people around me, and aside from that, i wont do religious things to make myself feel good, like i’m actually doing something worthwhile. if eternity is more important, religion will be true, it will come out of my heart. the pure kind of religion-the one that solves social issues like suicide, abuse, abortion, starvation, and other injustices.
if eternity is more important, than i will see the value in justice. the value in righteousness. the value in purity, the value in being a peacemaker, the value of being poor in spirit.
if eternity is more important to me, than the fighting wont be an option, and turning the other cheek will become more important, and even beyond that, not just turning the other cheek, but loving, blessing, and praying for those who persecute me.
if eternity is more important, than maybe i wont be so offended when people reject me, or abandon me, or use me, because i’ll understand the deeper things that cause this.(what exactly that is a can’t quite put my finger on, because to give it just…a name, wouldn’t do it justice)
if eternity is more important to me, then my time management will prove this, my money management will prove this, my actions in secret will prove this(though only God will see those, but those are the most meaningfull)

oh God, help me to find the value in eternity, and to make every decision based on this, that eternity is more important than time, and purity is more desirable than acceptance.
